Garbage for 20th November
Rehash Firkins run (Garbage)
First, congratulations to Brunhilda for receiving the
“Christchurch Earthquake award” for services to the community after the quakes.
It will be presented on 18th December when she
is supposed to be sailing between Brisbane and Sydney. She is also celebrating
the fact that her house is now GREEN and she can move in after
repairs.
Three new boots on the run; Sean from Canada along with
Aimee and Stacey. All three did some running which was a good sign among the old
and lame that struggle to walk fast.
Out the back of the Firkin emporium and Crutch immediately
started No Noing after being told which way the trail went. The pack were in
fine voice………..talking to each other that is, not calling. So SIF and self
undertook to raise the standard with loud efforts as we tackled the earthworks
which abound in that neck of the woods. A good trail saw the pack keeping
together with all speed walking if not running ( Vasy was not on the first part)
A good way into the trail and getting a bit strung out so when a boxer dog
stood on the side of the road a succession of Hashers called it Gremmie or
whatever Glo Worm and Labrats mutt is called. However, it was the wrong dog and
they all felt a bit stuupiiid!
Finally arrived at a piss stop to find Shaun, Vasy and Mr
Plank waiting having turned up late. Just had time to tear a scab of a tall one
when a police car came chasing up the road with lights flashing. The car it was
following turned into a drive next to us and a pizza delivery guy got out and
the female cop realised he was not a crim. Dogs comforted her as he knew her
from work and she was pleased that she did not have to arrest anyone, as she
wanted an early start in the morn to go and do the rail trail. I did remember to
tell her that she should go through the tunnels naked but I fear that she will
not!!!!
After all that excitement we felt that On Home was the best
option so the word was to follow the power lines past the crowd playing volley
ball and all would be well. And so it was.
On Home to find the fodder all ready with Mrs firkin (
Debs) just finishing off the last of the snags on the Barbie.
So straight into the fines with Lusty running the circle
except when self kept butting in for which I was fined a couple of times. ( What
a Hasher has to do to get a drink!)
New Boots of course as named above
No other rego fines so on to Navi as fines master
Shaun(1) Vas and plank for lateness.
Crutch for not listening and No Noing
Shrek for doing number 2’s not once but twice on the run
Sean(2) for being a polite New Boot and asking if it was OK
to actually run
Stacey for bragging about doing a marathon and stretching
Firkin for trying to say that short cutting is not allowed
at Hash….just because the entire pack short cut!!
Do not forget that next Tuesday is your last chance to buy a ticket for the Xmas do as numbers have to be in on the Wednesday for food.
Please let others know who might not be receiving this missive.
Next weeks run 27th Nov
