Rehash SIF’s Lincoln run - Run # 1605 Tues 28th May
A night from hell weather wise so a small crowd for what would have been a good run. The well managed Famous Grouse was packed when Dogs and I arrived at about 1800. It is a good pub! More hashers arrived armed with gummies and rain jackets and eventually the pack set off without waiting for Glo Worm and Labrat. Pouring rain but little wind saw the pack find bits of the remaining trail for about 20 mins and a meander down Robert St to the second check with several false trails. All soaked by this stage with Wo Wo still in the fore. SSS, self and Dogs checked all round South Belt to the Liffey river without any luck. Trail seemed to go up Maurice St but we lost it again. A call to SIF Helped find the trail down West Belt by which time Wee Knackers was looking distinctly bedraggled while 007 just looked gaunt. On down to the roundabout by the new subdivision when a howling Sou West front hit with all the force of an Atlantic roller. Not good and finally the rain trickled down the cracks of our nether regions and we said “stuff this for a game of cowboys” and contacted SIF who agreed to meet us at the Challenge garage with hot chips and cold beer! The team staggered there to find that Labrat and glo worm had finally made it and were wet as well!!! A scoff and back to the pub and warmth!!!!
Fines very quick with everyone receiving one for something or other. This was held over what was purported to be an outdoor fire. There was more warmth coming from SIF’s cell phone so a record was set with the fines and we headed back in to the fire where Jamit again held court.
A hot fire, more beer and a couple of very large platters of fodder soon relaxed the crew and normal Hash behaviour started up again:- Drinking piss and telling lies!
A good night under trying circumstances thanks SIF!
